European stocks closed mixed today as the six-month rally that occurred throughout the overall stock markets has outpaced the cheerful prediction for earnings and economic growth, knowing that today's Euro Zone current account revealed a surplus for the first time since the beginning 2008.
Indices performance came as follows:
The CAC 40 Index shed 7.43 points or 0.19% to close at 3827.84 levels, the index reached the highest point at 3853.97 and the lowest point at 3812.71, By closing 14 shares inclined while 25 shares declined and 1 share remained unchanged.
The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the index shed points due to Societe Generale share as it declined €0.90 or 1.64% to cut 2.84 points from the index as it closed at €54.10. Then came EDF SA as it dropped €1.39 or 3.41% costing the index 2.70 points and closing at €39.51, finally AXA SA share declined €0.25 or 1.46% subtracting 2.26 points from the index and closing at €17.20.
On the contrary, the stocks adding the most points to the index were Sanofi-Aventis SA stock as it inclined €0.84 or 1.72% to add 4.71 points and close at €49.99. Then came Unibail-Rodamco SE share as it inclined €5.25 or 3.60% adding to the index 2.45 points and close at €151.15, finally Credit Agricole SA share inclined €0.40 or 2.97% providing the index with 2.36 points as it closed at €13.86.
The DAX Index lost 27.31 points or 0.48% to close at 5703.83 levels, the index reached the highest point at 5760.83 and the lowest point at 5701.04, By closing 12 shares inclined while 18 shares declined.
The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the index shed points due to Deutsche Bank AG share as it declined €1.36 or 2.54% to cut 9.53 points from the index as it closed at €52.00. Then came Volkswagen AG as it dropped $8.17 or 6.73% costing the index 8.02 points and closing at €113.22, finally the Deutsche Telekom share declined €0.14 or 1.48% subtracting 4.75 points from the index and closing at €9.31.
On the contrary, the stocks adding the most points to the index were BASF F stock as it inclined €0.43 or 1.18% to add 4.50 points and close at $36.98. Then came Deutsche Boerse AG share as it inclined €1.56 or 2.69% adding to the index 3.30 points and close at €59.53, finally the E.ON AG share inclined €0.17 or 0.59% providing the index with 3.19 points as it closed at €28.81.
The British FTSE 100 Index inclined 8.94 points or 0.17% to close at 5172.89 levels, the index reached the highest point at 5183.88 and the lowest point at 5147.13, By closing 41 shares inclined while 60 shares declined and 1 share remained unchanged.
The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the stocks adding the most points to the index were HSBC Holdings PLC stock as it inclined £12.80 or 1.78% to add 8.76 points and close at £730.00, then came GlaxoSmithKline PLC share as it inclined £23.50 or 2.00% adding to the index 4.85 points and close at £1200.50, finally the Tesco PLC share inclined £7.60 or 1.96% providing the index with 2.35 points as it closed at £395.60.
