ecPulse.com: U.S Stocks seal the week gaining

Indices in the United States closed this week’s trading session in green even as investor’s confidence sank earlier today due to worries about the future outlook for global economies and the continues rally in markets, but analysts’ recommendations of purchasing stocks such as Procter & Gamble and HP helped boost confidence once again and led indices to gain.

Indices performance came as follows:

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index gained 36.28 points or 0.37% to close at 9820.2 levels, the index reached the highest point at 9847.71 and the lowest point at 9784.68, By closing 19 shares inclined while 10 shares declined and One shares remained unchanged.

The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the stocks adding the most points to the index were Procter & Gamble stock as it inclined $1.79 or 3.22% to add 13.53 points and close at $57.32, then came AT&T Inc share as it inclined $0.68 or 2.58% adding to the index 5.14 points and close at $27.05, finally Chevron Corp share inclined $0.67 or 0.93% providing the index with 5.06 points as it closed at $72.64.

On the contrary the index shed points due to Caterpillar Inc share as it declined $0.47 or 0.87% to cut 3.55 points from the index as it closed at $53.42, then came Travelers Cos Inc as it dropped $0.33 or 0.69% costing the index 2.49 points and closing at $47.37, finally 3M Co share declined $0.27 or 0.36% subtracting 2.04 points from the index and closing at $74.62.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index added 2.85 points or 0.27% to close at 1068.34 levels, the index reached the highest point at 1071.52 and the lowest point at 1064.27, By closing 290 shares inclined while 204 shares declined and 6 shares remained unchanged.

The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the stocks that inclined the most throughout the index were Procter & Gamble stock as it inclined $1.79 or 3.22% and close at $57.32, then came AT&T Inc share as it inclined $0.68 or 2.58% and close at $27.05, finally PepsiCo Inc share inclined $1.06 or 1.80% as it closed at $59.86.

On the contrary the stocks the declined the most were General Electric share as it declined $0.16 or 0.96% and closed at $16.5, then came Citigroup Inc as it dropped $0.16 or 3.62% and closing at $4.26, finally Wells Fargo & Co share declined $0.29 or 1.01% and closing at $28.49.

The NASDAQ Composite Index inclined 6.11 points or 0.29% to close at 2132.86 levels, the index reached the highest point at 2138.82 and the lowest point at 2120.7, By closing 1349 shares inclined while 1305 shares declined and 144 shares remained unchanged.

The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the stocks adding the most points to the index were Intel Corp stock as it inclined $0.14 or 0.72% to add 0.52 points and close at $19.55, then came Teva Pharmaceutical Industries share as it inclined $1.07 or 2.11% adding to the index 0.5 points and close at $51.88, finally CME Group Inc share inclined $10.7 or 3.65% providing the index with 0.47 points as it closed at $304.00.

On the contrary the index shed points due to Qualcomm Inc share as it declined $0.56 or 1.24% to cut 0.62 points from the index as it closed at $44.46, then came Microsoft Corp as it dropped $0.04 or 0.16% costing the index 0.24 points and closing at $25.26, finally Dell Inc share declined $0.17 or 1.01% subtracting 0.22 points from the index and closing at $16.69.

As for the New York Stock Exchange the most active stocks throughout today were; Citigroup Inc Share as it declined $0.16 to close at $4.26. The second active stock was Bank of America Corp. Share as it inclined $0.02 to close at $17.63. Finally The General Electric Share declined $0.16 to close at $16.5.
