Altis Partners: Altis Partners offers managed accounts in Global Commodity Portfolio

Leading managed futures advisor Altis Partners (Jersey) Limited is to offer managed accounts in its specialist Global Commodity Portfolio (GCP) for a limited period until 30 June 2009.

The Global Commodity Portfolio has been available via a Jersey-domiciled Fund vehicle since April 2006. It has delivered net annualised returns of +16.5% since inception, and +44.3% in 2008.

Altis is best known for its flagship Global Futures Portfolio, a diversified systematic trading programme which earned the company 14th place in Bloomberg Markets Magazine’s World’s Best Performing Hedge Funds for 20081. The Global Futures Portfolio – Altis Master Fund which has been trading since 2001 ended the year with net gains of +56.9%. Behind this success lies a proprietary trading system which uses a sophisticated portfolio-based approach and advanced, scalable infrastructure to trade a large number of futures markets on the global exchanges. Altis Partners currently manages over $1 Billion in this product.

The Global Commodity Portfolio applies the same proprietary system to a sub-set of around 60 markets in the commodity sectors, including several of the smaller, less accessible markets not available to the majority of larger managed futures funds. This gives the GCP a unique advantage in being able to deliver substantial long-term returns which are uncorrelated to traditional asset classes, and complimentary to mainstream managed futures products.

Head of Business Development Georgia Nakou said “We have had persistent demand for a commodity-only product from institutions and specialist funds of funds. Investors are keen to use commodities as a diversifier, but also as a route to absolute return. Long-only commodity products have demonstrably failed to deliver on the second count, and have exposed investors to the downside of commodity cycles. The Altis GCP is designed to perform in a fuller range of market conditions, and has delivered outstanding performance not only through the commodity bull run but throughout this last eventful year.”

The Altis Global Commodity Portfolio will be offered for managed account investors at fees of 2/20 for a minimum account size of $10 Million for a limited period until 30 June 2009. The Global Commodity Portfolio – Altis Master Fund is open to minimum investments of $500,000.
